FYI - In case anyone's interested got the 'Magic Trackpad' & installed the dmg no problems.
All works on my 1525 (10.6.4) as expected.

I'm using it along side BTT (BetterTouchTool) but am undecided if it will every replace my MM

You should look back through all the comments before asking questions that have been already answered. Noticed you have been over on Thomas's site (dailyblogged). Did you miss the part over there about using native AppleHDA audio?

For VoodooHDA, if that is what you want to use, look here: http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=355

Once you have installed the latest AppleHDA or VoodooHDA you can remove sleepwatcher, if you have it installed. Look at this; http://iphonetool.blogspot.com/2009/02/uninstall-sleepwatcher.html

Wondering what sleepwatcher has to do with audio? It unloads and reloads the VoodooHDA extension to get sound back after a system sleep. This was a problem with the, now very very old, version included in the install cd.

Both of these links were located in less than ONE MINUTE by doing a google search!!!

As a general rule: a Hackintosh requires a certain amount of skill and knowledge and the willingness to search for and find solutions for the problems you WILL run into (like updating the extension cache in /Extra. The guide here is almost a year old, a search for updates and improvements should have been the FIRST thing you did.

@sagar: Not sure what your issue is, iAtkos is not supported here. and if you follow the instructions above you should have no issues. the command console doesnt appear you have to open it yourself from applications/utilities.

@Frog: im quite sure when you install the voodoo HDA it does give this message every time i have run the install, i just do it again to be sure, reboot into osx without any flags then its all good.

Sorry but that wouldn't be fair. This guide really helps to install OSx in ANY system with boot 132. If you need custom support you could go to forum.

Why not include the words "Dell Inspiron 1525" in the title so this post shows up appropriately in searches? I mean this isn't a general guide is it? Isn't this specifically for this laptop? You can change the title on wordpress and no it doesn't break the permalink.

I got everything installed in 32bit on my 1525 (because that’s all that would ever boot without a kernel panic) and got everything working except audio. Voodo HDA gives me a message that says “Can’t get registry-entry path” Please Help me!!!

dose this method work with 10.6.3 disc?

</blockquote>
Yes i used my 10.6.3 disk on this but it would not work in 64bit mode so i always have to boot with arch=i386

I did go through that tutorial. And might I add, dailyblogged is the reason I have Leopard right now. But the guide says I cannot install on the partition am already booted in. The main problem is I don’t have extra space to create a new partition.Am thinking of using the USB method, i,e I will make the USB bootable and use that to install on my Leopard partition. This way, I will still have my current pard OS to modify whatever files I would to prep the USB. Would that work?
</blockquote>

I followed this tutorial but after each boot flag i added arch=i386 so it would boot into 32bit mode the 1525 WILL NOT boot in 64bit.

puttin it on a memory stick doesn't make a difference because without out it my 1525 freezes between stages 4 and 5 and with the memory stick the same thing happens. i boot with flags -v-x the white screen with the apple logo and the swerl underneath appears then it reboots but the screen doesnt come back on until you hit the power button and then this causes a grey screen with and mac os curser to appear in the top left corner of the screen this cannot be moved using the trackpad.

sorry but jus to get this straight replace the sleepenabler.kext in the Download BootSLv3-wifi.iso file with the one in the link and then burn that to a disc?
or jus burn the sleepenabler.kext from the link to a disk and boot from that ?

</blockquote>

there is a chance you will get support here, it does however apear you may have limited knowledge and may find this all to be quite an ordeal. I hope you persevere, you should find all the info here and in othe forums to get the outcome yourafter.

If you follow the outcome exactly as above, then use the new sleepenabler.kext instead of the one on the bootslv disk that should be fine.

Load it from a usb or a cd or whatever means you can think of - (i downloaded it from safemode) if you have the ability to replace the sleep enabler on the cd, do so. Just be sure you use the right version of the kext otherwise your instal wont work.

Yes, if you follow the instructions at the top of the page but use the sleepenabler.kext for 10.6.3, let us know how it goes !
