before you install mac osx version 10.6.2 you must know the requirements first. I believed that updating or installing a mac version 10.6.2 to dell inspiron will make your system freezed. because when installing 10.6.2 your system must be higher that intel either a mac machine.
i hope it will help a lot..

bout black screen after booting the mac. i suggest you put a login password. that is what i did to my inspiron 1525…

i used mac osx version 10.5.7 to dell inspiron 1525..

compatibility is always the problem.

@Lapeno: Hi about wifi, which one?airport or realtek? if airport you need to download a driver version 10.6.2 and also for realtek. you cannot use the airport though the aport is already installed. the version of your airport must be compatible with your system.. I hope it will help you or you can uninstall your airport driver and reinstall again then update it to boot by typing -v

Just after hitting submit it dawned on me that in 10.5.2 you don’t have a trackpad preference pane. As I remember it is all in one preference pane along with the mouse settings. The idea stays the same you just have to root around a little to find it…

Editing your trackpad preference pane as per: http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php/topic,245.0.html is a good place to start. Specifically:

open /System/Library/PreferencePanes/Trackpad.prefPane/Contents/Info.plist and remove this line

Forget it… Somehow I did an update when I was trying to install new printer. You know… I was installing the drivers and there was a good fight on TV and the dinner and the Update popup jumped out so why not… Now after i removed the USB cord from laptop it booted normally. Maybe it’s some kind of the compatibility issue. So I guess i will have to hook it up to my other computer and print through network. Thanks anyway. I love this website!!!

in my dell 1525 I have leopard 10.5.7 and I installed 5.7 realtek version for mac osx..

hey, i tried installing your wifi and sound fix’s, but when it asks me for my password, it says its incorrect. its says im getting my admin password wrong. so i realized, maybe somehow i am not set as the admin user. how can i make myself the admin? i finally got my hack working, and i found your stuff that looks like its what i need, but i cant install it! please help.

I have a problam i have updated the Airport Driver and it now id didn’t detect the wifi card is there any way i can undo that update to maker my airport work fine again or i have to install the mac again.

Problem solved. I've reinstall the kext IOPCIFamily and since then I have no problem with USB devices.

I am 13 year old web designer and a vb.net programmer and was using Windows Vista and got ticked off. I went out bought a Snow Leopard Cd. This is my 5th time installing Mac Os X the last time I did it I managed to boot it up 4 times. The weird thing is that Mac Os X recognized my wifi, I have tried booth things to get my sound to work but neither seem to work for me. I would appreciate it if you could help me.

Installed 10.6 (snow) with the Boot132 cd.

1.install goes fine
2.reboot on to partition, snow loads in safe mode, but is nicely functional
3.apply hacks/kexts/etc reboot.
4.apple logo on grey bg, then black screen, this is as far as it ever gets.

it only ever boots in to snow that one time after install (same happens if i skip step 3), ive been looking for an answer to this question all over the net, seems to be lots asking the same thing but no-one that knows what is going on

“duplicate” “mirror” “clone” is not possible, extended desktop only, if you are stuck in this mode try booting in safe mode -x or by using http://eruvia.org/software/osxmirroring/index.html or http://www.fabiancanas.com/Projects/MirrorDisplays/
