Maximize Your Mac Window to the Full Screen
I was just recently attempting to maximize a window and found myself dragging the corners a lot.
So, I went on a hunt for an application to actually maximize your window.
Download: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/30591/right-zoom
How-to: Once you download it just drop it into your applications folder and then go to “system preferences” then “accounts” and drag the “Rightzoom” icon into your “login items” and click hide.
Once you’ve done that you’re good to go and now all of your application automatically maximize to the full screen.
You can also add applications to the exclusion list if you’d like.
Have fun with having your applications maximize to a full screen, it’ll help a lot of you getting accustomed to mac.
Nice find, but I’m not too sure about the last line. Learning a new OS should involve thinking about doing things in a /different/ way, not trying to copy how your previous OS behaved just because you’re more comfortable with it now.
I do like the behaviour of the green button, but I also think that functionality for a full screen maximize should be there by default.
So thanks, I’ll be giving this a go!
I think you’re right Jamie the maximize button should be there by default.
IMO It does not matter what OS you are using we should have some recognised standard with regard to these things or we are just re-inventing the wheel every time and we cannot move forward efficiently. If any OS wants to rival another OS it need to be as user friendly and more than the rival. As much as I dislike Microsoft, some of their ideas just makes good sense and should be adopted across all OS’s; likewise MAC have some great ideas that Microsoft eventually steal and pretend they invented it.
