Improve Webcam Framerate on Dell Inspiron 1525 Hackintosh
Many of you who have a webcam on your Dell Inspiron 1525 hackintosh may have noticed that in some applications quality is lacking quite a bit. Well here is a solution for all of you!
1) Download “Camtwist”
2) From here you go to “preferences” and set it like this.
3) Now you need to setup your primary setup and then your effects setup.
4) Double click on webcam and when it moves over to the “Adjusted Settings” click “save setup” and name it something generic like “webcam” and then click it and press autoload.
5) (Optional) You can make an effects setup or you can simply apply them to your basic “webcam” setup.
6) When your done it should look something like this.
**Note: Camtwist cannot be used in “iChat”. In addition to this I’ve noticed that regardless of what you do increasing the speed of your camera in “Photobooth” seems impossible.**

Do you have Photobooth crash on you intermittently like the majority of us or is yours stable? If stable, did you do anything to it to make it more so?
This is actually a problem that occurs on some regular macintoshes as well.

hi! appleyukon1.kext not work. flashing yellow and orange in ethernet, I did well on the Internet setting.

The camera was working when i was setting up the mac; now the webcam is not there to select and doesnt work in photo booth either; any ideas? Thanks.
That’s really strange… was this before or after installing camtwist?
This was after installing camtwist, ive done a complete reinstall now and the cam is working (But this is again befofre ive installed the other kexts from the 1525 driver pack (so no sound at the moment) network is working oob.
hi, i dont know where to post this, but i have done everything explained and everything is working except the webcam (crashes when u open pb) and the bluetooth, it says no hardware found, does anyone know where i can get drivers for this. Thnx
It seems like you didn’t configure camtwist correctly…
It isn’t that the webcam crashes it’s that photobooth crashes, this is actually a problem with Photo Booth that plagues real mac users as well. After a quick google I found this http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7265326

How Do I adjust the brightness of my webcam, its kinda dark? everything works fine using 10.5.8
