Dell Inspiron 1525 SD Card Reader

**THIS POST IS OUTDATED PLEASE REFER TO THE SNOW LEOPARD GUIDE**

I know a lot of you are concerned with how to get the SD card reader working so here you go. This driver only works with SD and SDHC cards any other cards wont show up.

**ALWAYS EJECT THE CARD ON OSX BEFORE REMOVING IT OR IT WILL CRASH YOUR SYSTEM**

1) The first step is to download this pack – SD Card Reader Pack

2) Kexthelper both of the kexts

3) Repair disk using disk utility.

4) Reboot

5) Have fun using your SD driver.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the specific topic for the card reader.
    I have carried out the install but my SanDisk Ultra II 2 GB card is not being recognised.

    Any ideas?

    Have you repaired your disk using disk utility? Have you restarted your computer?

    Because you’re replacing the IOPCIfamily.kext you have to repair your disk.

    Try to kext helper it and then tag cache rebuild and then repair disk utilities.

    Hello all,

    Not sure if this is a news or not, but there is a new Voodoo driver for the SD card reader that made the use of the internal reader of the 1525 much better.

    http://blog.0xabadba.be/ -> look for VoodooSDHC.kext.zip it’s a beta but a very good one.

    Tested on 10.5.7, I dropped it in the Extra directory (chameleon 2) but I guess it could be installed to the usual places as well.
