No More Disappearing Icons or Sleep Tricks!

**THIS POST IS OUTDATED PLEASE REFER TO THE SNOW LEOPARD GUIDE**

If you want to use it and are on anything other than 10.5.6 you will have to install chameleon and then follow my instructions.

Alright for those of you still reliant on the sleep trick and are constantly getting those annoying disappearing icons here is a guide for you to put an end to all of that.

1) Download my dsdt.aml and drop it in your “Macintosh HD” and “replace” the existing one.

2) Remove all traces of a sleep trick. I know some of you installed packages to get it working, simply uninstall them and get rid of any sleep corner. Once you restart you’ll be up and running like a regular mac. You’ll never have to log out and log back in or anything.

3) Cheer and leave me a comment if you got it working, and if not… well then leave me a comment and I’ll walk you through.

4) I made a quick video on how to do it.

    can you tell me what changes have you made ? or can you share unmodified dsdt.dsl so I can
    figure out the changes myself?

    Basically, I’m trying to get X3100 working on D630

    thanks!

    Try to boot with -x and if that doesnt work after you startup try pressing the powerbutton and then press s which should get your computer to sleep.

    I am a PC. I don’t know much about Mac’s and I am only doing this because I want to try to create iPhone Apps that can only be built on Macs. Anyway, what do you mean copy it to the “Macintosh HD” (I know you mean the hard drive I am not that bad) but what directory does the file go into. The root of the drive or some sub-directory? Please do use shorthand or abbreviations because I will not know what you are talking about. Remember I am a PC :)

    @Mihai:

    A link to the file is at the top of the page. Just unzip and copy the file to the root of your OS drive. That worked for me.

    i am quite often bumping across the web most of the night which means that I have a propensity to read a whole lot, which is not commonly a beneficial factor as some of the sites I visit are constructed of worthless nonsense copied from several other sites a million times, however I have to compliment you because this webpage is in truth enjoyable and even includes some authentic material, for that reason thanks for removing the fad of exactly duplicating other individual’s blogs, if you ever wanna take up a few hands of myspace poker together with me just send me a message – you have my e-mail :)
