I also couldnt quite get my camera working (under 10.6.2), it didnt just work out of the box for somereason (it did in 10.5) . It would not show up in photobooth, but if I went to a flash website that used the camera it would show up, but 90% of the picture was solid green static, and I could only see a slight bit of the camera image. After lots of googling around and almost giving up, I read that it had something to do with osx trying to get a higher resolution from the camera than it was capable of. The fix was very simple, delete (or move) the file:

/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreMediaIOServicesPrivate.framework/Versions/A/Resources/VDC.plugin

I moved the file to my desktop and rebooted and the camera now works perfectly.

Also, what is your bios version? You want to be at A16 or A17. You’ll need windows to install a bios update easily. With 10.6.3 on the way it may change everything or nothing, we’ll see once it’s out… Good luck!

you only used -f -v flags? try reading the instructions again (hint: -x). Not sure anything other than a real retail dvd will work, it’s $29 and money well spent. BTW: multiple all cap demands for help will not make you many friends here…

i have successfully installed using a few methods (Kalaway 10.5.2, 132 – leopard and snow leopard) i found 132 by far the easiest method this can be done start to finish, on a dell 1525 with 1.8gig t7100 and 2.5gig of ram in under an hour and a half.

you can update to 10.6.1 but dont try to update to 10.6.2 just yet though….

Try using the broadcom script located here http://macyourpc.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/broadcom-script.zip to run this open up terminal and drag and drop the script into terminal go through all the processes and then do it again. Make sure to do it twice to make sure it works. After that correct the permissions in disk utility.

I have been using iDeneb 10.5.7 on Dell Inspiron 1525 for a while now and everything seems to work. I wanted to try out Boot 132 and Retail Leopard on another HD to see if it would work. Unfortunately I dont have a retail leopard disc at the moment, so I downloaded 10.5.4 retail + 10.5.6 retail to test if it did work. Boot 132 generic.iso leaves me with a blank black screen after blue screen. I’m not sure how to modify the boot 132 so I wanted to know if anyone had a modified boot 132 for Dell Inspiron 1525 (or if one existed)
Errors are PCGENUSB on boot.Any help would greatly appreciated, thanks.Rob

Most things are working, with the exception of the Intel 3945 Wireless card, but from checking around the web its not currently possible to get that to work with secured wireless points.

CodeWarrior: Ok with a special boot-132 from Genaro I was able to install Leopard 10.5.6 retail dvd, without having to muck around with the terminal (just a straight boot-swap-boot install).Issues:
* Resolution always set to 1024×768, I have 1440×900
* Wired ethernet works but no support for the Wifi
* The computer seems slow and extremely hot, I’m guessing there are some issues here with full cpu support, like for dynamic cpu-stepping.If I can address the resolution issue that would be a great start, as the app I want to run takes up more than the 768 height allows.

There are still many issues for getting the retail version working 100% vanilla such as having to install modded USB kexts to get USB 2.0 and modded sound to get perfect audio. I’ve been working on it and I have yet to be able to find enough time to make a post on it.

I’m pretty sure that the wireless card will work just fine, but I am unsure about the ATI Card, bluetooth and the webcam. Would all of those work with the iPC distribution?

I’m unaware about the mobility card, I know more research should be done to see but with a quick search I found myself over to this http://netkas.org/?p=104 I’m sorry I can’t much with the video card. To get the bluetooth it’ll take a bit of workaround but it’s possible with this post http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=136515&st=0&p=1187928&#entry1187928 and the webcam should just work.

If you need help editing the bluetooth kext ask here but I’m not too sure how fast I could get around to it.
Economy is hitting me hard, I have to go to work a lot more now. Work and school are pretty tough right now. The economy has hit me and my family quite hard which is one of the reasons I haven’t been able to offer as much support as I usually do.
